Satellite Imagery
Welcome to the weather satellite
imagery section.
This part of the site is dedicated to provide you with the latest
satellite imagery as it is obatined here at Chipping Campden.
At the moment the type
of satellite data that is available is HRPT which stands for
High Resolution Picture Transmission.
This type of imagery comes from a
series
of polar orbiting satellites maintained by NOAA in America. These
satellites orbit the Earth on average every hour and a half.
If you want to know
more about HRPT and the equipment involved to receive this data
feel free to visit this link where there is also a sample HRPT image
converted to Jpeg available for viewing in the C/HRPT section:

Images will open in a new browser
window these images can then be saved to your hard disk drive.

Please note that there is now a new satellite in
orbit (NOAA 19) it has not been comissioned by NASA yet for
hand over to NOAA. As soon as the satellite is comissioned this table
will be updated to show NOAA 19 imagery aswell.
